Happy Birthday! - this is a post not a test!

Today is The Queen's 90th Birthday!  Happy Birthday Your Majesty!

Not that I suppose you read my blog Ma'am.

Patricia at Red Cardinal was writing today about the Queen's birthday and showed a picture of a teeny tiny silver royal coach which made me think about my own collection of teeny tiny silver charms.  I was sure that one of mine had wheels so I went to have a look.  It isn't as grand as Patricia's.

It is a Gypsy Caravan.  It is tiny as you will see in just a moment.

I love that it opens up inside to show the two people.  This is a family heirloom and I treasure it and many memories of it a great deal.

This is the tiny size!

Just thought I would share this with you as Patricia's post bought back happy memories for me.

I will be back tomorrow with something new for Five On Friday.

Happy Thursday to everyone and Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth II

Amy

  2. I love this little charm! I have a charm bracelet filled with charms from my youth. You used to be able to buy them at so many places, but it's quite rare to run across them now.

  5. Happy Birthday to her Royal Highness!
We were in London with our daughter in 2004 on her birthday and saw and heard the cannons being fired in her honor. Fun memories...
That mini silver caravan that opens is so fabulous. I've never seen anything like it. I'm going to click over to see Patricia's carriage...

  7. A beautiful charm. I bought bracelets for my Grandaughters and add a charm for a special occasion, whilst they may not be fashionable once they are grown I am hoping they will bring back lots of memories for them and become heirlooms.

  8. How cute is that. I love how some charms open up to show extra detail, I have a dustbin and the lid lifts up to reveal a cat sitting on top of the rubbish.

  14. Love your teeny charm. I inherited my mum's charm bracelet on which is a little gold shoe which opens to reveal the old woman and her many children of nursery rhyme fame. And you never know, HM might read your blog!

  16. How did they manage to make it so small! Great fun and a fitting tribute although the Queen has a new car now so she can stand up and wave to everyone and be whisked along at the same time x

  17. I always loved charms like that but couldn't stand to wear bracelets so never collected any charms.

It is wonderful to see just how well she looks and everyone smiling, the public too, during her walkabout in Windsor. It just goes to show just how popular she is!

  23. Oh this is gorgeous Amy, and thank you for mentioning my blog. Your little coach opens up in such a charming way - alas, mine is a mere key-ring, from which I removed the ring, and does not open at all. Maybe I'll find a better coach this year, but meantime, your coach definitely is a winner :)) Happy Birthday to H.M. - wish I was over there and could see the TV specials! xx
