It seems the last few years that I have taken more and more to vintage things. It started when we inherited a 1950's table and chairs and then bought some other second hand furniture items of the same period to go with them.
Then I began to track down a few more things and gradually our living room developed into having a slightly vintage 1950's feel. It isn't really all vintage, it is more of a flavour. I guess that now it is called "mid century modern" or "retro". I don't really know what it is, but it is what we have and we like it.
About a year and a half ago I made these cushions from some genuine 1950's fabric that we managed to get. I have showed them before on my blog here, but as it was so long ago I thought that perhaps newer readers might like to see them.
The reason that I thought about this was because I am hoping - when I get a few other things finished! - to crochet a cover for our footstool and I want to use these colours so as I was looking back at the pictures I thought about the cushions.
Anyway, enough gabbling, here is what they look like and a little show of how I changed the plain cushions and took the fabric to make them into something else.
Sorry if I am not around much in the comments or replies for the rest of the week. Family issues are occupying me, I will be back of course when I can. Thank you for bearing with me.
