TA DAH!!! No Two The Same Crochet Blanket

Finally my No Two The Same Crochet Blanket is finished!!!  Do you want to see......

It is made up of 210 squares of four round granny squares, joined by the join as you go method.  I used 8 different colours of Stylecraft Special DK.  You can find the details of the colours in my post here.

I then added a border of an additional row of white treble clusters and then two rows of each colour, finishing with another row of white and then Bunny Mummy's Double V Edging.

It is called No Two The Same because no two of the squares are exactly the same.  They are similar, but not the same!

It is large enough to cover the top of a double bed and measures approximately 72 inches by 74 inches, there are fourteen rows each of fifteen squares - or fifteen rows of fourteen squares if you count the other way of course!

I used the leftover coloured yarn to make this cushion, which I don't dislike quite as much as I did when I was making it.

Now I am back to completing my ripple blanket, although I have done a couple of other things too which I will show you tomorrow.

  1. The big blanket is a stunner. I'm surprised at how small and compact it is when folded up.

  3. Love it!! It's beautiful, I love your colours and colour placements. Nothing nicer than a bright pretty cozy blanket on ones bed! How long did that take you?

  5. Wow your no two the same blanket is adorable - I love that you made a deep border on it, it really sets it off - I made a blanket for my youngest son but so far have only put a small border on it (even tho it is on his bed) as I kind of run out of steam. You have inspired me to add a deeper border to it. The begining of you ripple blanket looks super, I love the rythm of a ripple.

  6. Amy, it's just beautiful. So old-fashioned (in a great way) but also updated because it's different! The white makes it that way, plus the 'different' designs. Love it.

By the way, I couldn't figure out why your new posts weren't popping up on my blog reader. I was getting your posts by email, but I had forgotten to 'follow'. Rectified that.

  8. Well done you, you are a clever lady. While I was shopping in Cath Kidston today, I found myself looking at the quilt-type multi-square-stitched-together changing room curtain and thinking 'ooh, this reminds me of the shirt quilt Amy is making,' and then wondering whether I should try to make something similar. The moment of insanity quickly passed, as I remembered that if I tried it it would not come out looking anything like as good as yours did :-) xx

  31. It's stunning Amy, so bright and cheery and granny squares never fail to please. What a great idea to make each one different - how did you keep track of them all? The ripple is looking good already - I enjoyed making my ripple, once you get a good rhythm going there's no stopping! Enjoy the rest of your week.

    1. If you look back you can see my square snake post where I explained how I worked out the order for joining the squares, as to making them up I had a very boring and long winded system, but basically I did 30 of each middle, then five second rounds each of the other 6 colours and then a round on each of them in the other 6 colours! That is a rubbish explanation, but if you want to know more, e-mail me and I will explain in more detail! xx

  35. Your blanket is gorgeous, as is all your crotchet Amy. And I really like the cushion too. And the ripple! Sadly by crotchet has come to a halt as it hurts my damaged arm too much. I am thinking of passing my projects over to a crafty friend. Never mind. I will just sew instead :) xx

  39. Such a gorgeous blanket. I actually think there is nothing better than a basic granny square blanket. I have 3 granny square blankets that have been on my 'to do' list of the last 3 years. i think once I get those out of the way, then I might concentrate on sewing, but I know, until they are done, then I can't think about anything really other than crochet. Ridiculous I know!

The size and colour scheme of your blanket is awesome. I bet you'll love it even more when the nights start getting really chilly. The perfect snuggle blanket!

Have a super rest of a week!
