Crochet update and a sunset!

My October List included complete big green (my big, mainly green, crochet blankie).  I didn't!

My November List includes complete big green - I'm working on it, really!!

I thought that you might like to see how far I've got.

Nearly there, one more ball of green to go and then two of parchment (the beige colour) then I will be finished - yay!!!!

My little multicolour has not progressed much as you can see.

It will be done one day.

Neither big green or multicolour has been helped by the appearance of this.

It might be a shawly scarfy thing when I am done.  I'm using some more of the Rowan from my stash bought years ago.

It is lovely yarn "in the ball" and lovely when it is in my shawly scarfy thing, but passing by my hook, well, not so much.  It is very splitty and sort of baggy and then all of a sudden it goes all tight and pully.  Most strange.  Anyhow, it is lovely and soft and fluffy, so I'm hoping to get this finished before too long.

Apropos nothing other than it was pretty, here is a sunset from the other day!

    1. You are right Chrissie I'm sure that I will appreciate it all the more, and it has to be more constructive than just getting the balls of wool out and squeezing them every now and then!! Glad you like the sunset. xx

  5. I did a chin trellis cowl thing years ago and it was such a nice quick stitch. That yarn looks lovely, I have never used it but always liked to give it a squeeze! Thanks for dropping by my blog. Jo x

    1. I cannot knit either, I get in a terrible mess, I can't remember the stitches for some reason and I end up with holes and all sorts, so rest assured, you are not alone! I bet that you get some great sunsets where you are. xx

  12. It's nice to see that you're still plugging away at your crochet projects! The blanket is looking great. I am sure it will be nice and warm this winter. I've been making most blankets with Stylecraft lately and it's very nice to work with and makes a lovely warm blanket.

    1. The Stylecraft that I am using for big green is, I have to say, much easier to work with than the Rowan is. The multicolour is Sirdar and that is easy to work too. Big green is very snuggly, so I think that if I were to do another - I know, get this one done first! - I would use the Stylecraft for sure. xx

  13. Your blanket is looking amazing Amy and I am sure you can't wait to finish it. Love the colour of that Rowan and it is going to make a beautiful scarf, snood or whatever you decide in the end. Glorious sunsets, its such a lovely time of the year to get cold and clear sunsets. Beautiful makes, well done! xoxo

    1. I'm glad that you are glad to be missed!! I'll have to decide what I'm going to do with the multicolour as I don't have much yarn for anything too big - I suggested a one foot warmer before!! xx

  18. Its looking good so far! Its amazing how quickly crocheting grows, I like to be able to pick mine up for an odd half hour or so and then put it down and doing a throw allows you to do that.

    1. I think that is why I never got on with knitting Anne, I could never come back to it if I stopped, but with crochet I don't seem to have that problem! Once I have finished my comments here I'm going to sit back with my cuppa and do a few more rows. xx

    1. Hi Linda, I guess it is about 5 foot square at the moment, but I haven't measured it for a while so no idea really, I know that it is a pain lugging it in and out of the basket I'm keeping it in. You are right about the rounds taking ages when it gets big. I've done about three sides tonight! Hope you had a good day. xx

  27. I totally love how you have described things in this post =D I hope you get your green blanket finished for November, its so tough getting things finished when new projects pop up all the time. Though I am loving you scarf - shawl project, though I find it frustrating when you get yarns that are splitty and horrible when passing them by your hook....requires more patience and concentration than normal!

  29. Well done on ticking your list in the crochet dept for November, your scarf looks like it will be lovely and cosy in that yarn. I need to do the dreaded blocking for my 2 shawls I have just completed, I really hate doing it but it's always worth it! We have had amazing pink sunsets this past week, I love them and watching how the sky changes so quickly x Penny

    1. I will look forward to seeing your shawls Penny, I think that my big green needs some serious blocking, but it is only for me to snuggle under so I might not bother... your shawls will be amazing I'm sure. I've been distracted again today by snowflakes - they definitely need blocking and probably a dose of spray starch if it still exists! xx
